Job summary

Coast Guard Exchange in San Juan, PR is seeking a Child Care Assistant for a full-time position (30-40 hours/week) at the Child Development Center. You will plan and deliver age-appropriate activities, supervise children, and support staff in maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
• One year of general experience working with children in a group setting.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to satisfactorily complete Tier 1 background investigation and periodic checks.
• Must pass Civilian Medical Clearance exam every two years for childcare positions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute early childhood activities to support development.
• Work with director/teachers to implement curriculum and activities.
• Maintain safe, organized indoor/outdoor spaces and supervise children.
• Assist with daily reports and coordination with staff, parents, and command.
