Job summary

Ashland University Catering and Conferences seeks a full-time Catering Event Supervisor (2) to lead event operations within the university’s catering program. You will prepare for events per the Banquet Event Order (BEO), supervise wait staff and bartenders, and ensure food safety and quality across all events.

This role requires flexibility for nights and weekends, with an expected 40 hours per week. Prior catering or event leadership experience is preferred.

Ashland University Catering and Conferences seeks to fill a full-time Catering Event Supervisor position. AU Catering serves a large variety of events from ten (10) guest lunch meetings to three hundred (300) guest off-premise weddings and everything in between.

• Prepare for events in accordance to the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
• Leads wait staff and bartenders during the event, including assigning set up tasks, sections, and clean up tasks and ensures that all details of the BEO are met.
• Responsible for overseeing food safety and food quality.
• Manage bars and bartenders.
• Schedule varies week to week depending on events, most shifts are nights and weekends.

Required Qualifications

• Hospitality experience.
• Knowledge of food safety.
• Customer service experience.
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older to oversee bars and bartenders.
• Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Ashland University will not sponsor or take over sponsorship for an employment visa.

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Demands
