Job summary

University of Pittsburgh Physicians in Pittsburgh's Magee Women's Hospital is hiring a Full-time Echocardiographer for the Heart and Vascular Institute. The role will take call on weeknights, weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule.

You will perform transthoracic, transesophageal, stress echocardiography and echo with contrast, ensuring high-quality imaging, accurate coding, and collaboration with clinicians.

Qualifications

• Proficient in performing echocardiography procedures with independent judgment.
• Strong patient communication to explain procedures and alleviate fears.
• Able to cover rotating on-call schedule including weeknights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Communicate instructions clearly to patients and explain procedures.
• Identify patients correctly and document history and orders in electronic records.
• Operate ultrasound equipment and optimize image quality per protocols.
• Collaborate with team to ensure efficient patient care and accurate coding.
• Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures per established guidelines (TTE, TEE, Stress echo, contrast).
• Adhere to policies, values and universal protocol; cover shifts as needed and on satellite facilities.
