Job summary

Pulse Heart Institute is seeking an Echocardiographer (cardiac sonographer) to obtain high-quality heart ultrasound recordings for Cardiologists. This technical role requires independent judgment, initiative, and a strong knowledge of ultrasound physics and cardiac anatomy.

Responsibilities include performing echocardiographic studies, completing quantitative worksheets, scheduling and clerical tasks, and maintaining equipment. On-call hours and potential overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Registered with ARDMS or CCI; ultrasound technology training program completion; current BLS

Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiographic studies on patients
• Completes the echocardiography worksheet with quantitative calculations, measurements, and descriptive information
• Performs clerical procedures including scheduling, phones, filing, report circulation, data basing, and charging
• Maintains and cleans ultrasound equipment
• Demonstrates knowledge of ultrasound principles and cardiac anatomy to produce diagnostic studies
• Communicates effectively with colleagues, physicians and patients
• Ability to share on-call hours evening and weekends and work overtime in emergencies
