Job summary

KRE Security in Reading, PA is seeking a Full-Time Overnight Security Officer for our college campuses. You will be a visible, reassuring presence during overnight hours, patrol campuses, monitor access points, and respond to incidents to keep students, staff, and visitors safe.

This role emphasizes reliability, professionalism, and calm performance under pressure, with opportunities for advancement and a benefits package including health insurance and PTO.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Alert and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable working independently or as a team during overnight hours.
• Able to communicate professionally with students, staff, visitors, and coworkers.
• Calm and level-headed when situations become stressful.
• Comfortable walking and conducting regular patrols.
• Able to write clear and accurate reports.
• Willing to obtain required PSP Patch, ChildLine, and FBI fingerprint clearances for school employees.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and other designated areas.
• Checking doors, access points, and facilities.
• Monitoring security cameras, alarms, and activity around campus.
• Assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors with questions or concerns.
• Responding to disturbances, suspicious activity, safety concerns, or other incidents.
• Handling after-hours access and lockout situations.
• Documenting incidents and completing clear, accurate reports.
• Contacting appropriate campus personnel or emergency services when needed.
• Being a calm, professional, and reassuring presence when someone needs help.

Full-Time Overnight Security Officer – College Campus

Wednesday–Sunday | 11:00 PM–7:00 AM | Full-Time Reading, PA (2 Campuses, must be willing to work both as business needs require)

What Does Campus Security Look Like Overnight?

Campus life doesn't stop just because the sun goes down!

As an overnight Security Officer, you'll be a visible and reassuring presence for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Some nights may be quiet and routine. Other nights may require you to think on your feet and respond calmly to the unexpected.

You may encounter:

• Conducting patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and other designated areas.
