Job summary

Winchester Public Schools Hinsdale School in Winsted, CT is seeking a School Safety Officer to serve as a visible safety presence inside and outside the school. The role reports to the Superintendent of Schools and the Director of School Safety and Security, enforcing rules and coordinating with local authorities.

The position requires monitoring of premises, assisting staff and visitors, and maintaining records. Shifts are 8 hours; pay is $25.00 per hour, Full-time status.

Qualifications

• Minimum training includes CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain it upon hiring.
• Challenging environment requiring vigilance, communication, and safety protocol adherence.
• Bi-lingual or multilingual skills are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of school buildings, grounds, and facilities.
• Patrol campus perimeter, lunch areas, hallways, classrooms, parking lots and bus stops.
• Operate CCTV cameras and Visitor Management System; report incidents to authorities.
