Job summary

Winchester Public Schools Hinsdale School in Winsted, CT is hiring a part-time Custodian to maintain a clean, safe facility after hours. The role runs 4:00pm–8:00pm, Monday through Friday.

The position reports to the Principal and District leadership and requires physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, background checks, and a valid driver's license. Candidates must have a HS diploma or GED and dependable transportation.

Qualifications

• Manual skills to perform cleaning tasks and minor repairs of building and equipment.
• Mechanical skills to operate cleaning and groundskeeping equipment.
• Reliable transportation and a valid Driver's License.
• Must pass local and federal background check.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical exam which includes drug testing.
• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial activities to maintain a clean, safe school environment.
• Keep buildings and grounds neat and clean at all times.
• Clean and maintain all assigned spaces and equipment.
• Disinfect restrooms, cafeterias, classrooms, and common areas; mop, sweep, and sanitize floors.
• Maintain school grounds: mow, rake leaves, trim vegetation, remove snow, and ensure safe access.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs of buildings, equipment, and grounds.
