Job summary

The Bunker Hill Community College Police Department seeks full-time academy-trained officers to protect a diverse campus community in Boston. You will patrol, investigate incidents, assist courts, and respond to emergencies, upholding professionalism and service.

Qualifications include academy training and POST/SPO eligibility, a high school diploma or GED (associate or bachelor’s preferred), non-smoker status, and background checks.

Qualifications

• Must be full-time Bridge or MPTC Academy Trained and be POST Certified.
• Eligible for appointment as a Special State Police Officer under MGL 22C, Sec. 63.
• High School Diploma or GED; Associate/Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must be a non-smoker of tobacco products under M.G.L. Chapter 41, Section 101A, and remain a non-smoker.
• Background check including CORI and SORI is required.
• Must pass the physical fitness test.
• May be required to pass a psychological exam.
• No person with a felony conviction shall be appointed.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings and surrounding areas.
• Investigate crimes or incidents and arrest suspects when necessary.
• Assist courts in prosecution of cases and maintain campus safety.
• Respond to disturbances and emergencies to create a safe campus for staff, students, faculty and visitors.
