Babson College is seeking a full-time Cook to join its dining services team. The role involves preparing meals to standardized recipes, serving meals with proper portioning and temperature, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.

Pay ranges from $25.21 to $26.21 per hour with a Tuesday–Friday and weekend schedule. The position requires prior cooking experience and adherence to safety and HACCP standards.

• Prior cooking experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning, meeting standards, ensuring food is at the correct temperature, attractive and tasty; taste all prepared food items.
• Use established ticket collection procedures during service; responsible for records from area worked during service periods.
• Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness; store or discard excess food per safe food-handling procedures.
• Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; ensure food and supply items are stored per standards.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
• Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required.
• Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Attend in-service and safety meetings.
• Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
• Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
