Full-time Cook
Babson College – 231 Forest Street, Babson Park, MA 02457. Full-time schedule.
Pay: $25.21 – $26.21 per hour.
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday 10:30 AM – 6:00 PM. Saturday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. (Details upon interview)
Requirements:
- Prior cooking experience required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
- Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning, meeting standards, ensuring food is at the correct temperature, attractive and tasty; taste all prepared food items.
- Use established ticket collection procedures during service; responsible for records from area worked during service periods.
- Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness; store or discard excess food per safe food-handling procedures.
- Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; ensure food and supply items are stored per standards.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
- Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
- Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required.
- Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
- Attend in-service and safety meetings.
- Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
- Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
- Personal commitment to your own safety and that of others.
- Abide by all Company policies and procedures, including:
- Use medium weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
- Use oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
- Use slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
