Job summary

Encore Village is seeking a Full-Time Barista to work 7:00-4:00 pm, Monday–Friday and every other weekend in our Dining Services Department. The Barista will prepare and serve coffee and espresso drinks, beverages, and teas, with a strong emphasis on customer service and cleanliness.

Responsibilities include operating espresso equipment, taking orders, processing payments, educating customers on menu items, and maintaining hygiene standards in a busy cafe setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service or customer service is preferred.
• Knowledge of coffee and espresso preparation is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems.
• High school or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks and teas according to standardized recipes.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment.
• Take customer orders and handle payments via cash or POS systems.
• Provide friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable service to all guests.
• Keep the cafe clean, stocked, and organized.
• Maintain hygiene and food safety standards.
• Educate customers on coffee blends, brewing methods, and menu items.
• Assist in opening and closing procedures.
• Restock supplies and ingredients as needed.
• Work collaboratively with team members and support other duties as assigned.
