Job description

This is a full-time position responsible for baking products according to standards and processing/packaging/stocking Fresh Foods products according to Fresh Foods Standards. Duties include cleaning work areas, providing customer service, unloading stock, and reloading salvage.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Associates must be at least 18 years of age.
2. Exceptional interpersonal skills and willingness to participate in required training.
3. High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
4. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
5. Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
6. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
7. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and perform operations using American money and weight measurement.
8. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
9. Complete Company's training including but not limited to: new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.

Physical Demands:

The associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The associate is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds (occasionally lift up to 50 pounds) and reach from 6-72 inches. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color, and depth perception.

Work Environment:

The associate constantly works in a moderate environment and is frequently exposed to hot, cool, and extreme cold, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually moderate to loud.

Compensation:

Pay Transparency: Harris Teeter reasonably expects to pay between $15.45/hour and $20.45/hour for this role as a newly hired associate. Pay may depend on previous experience and skill sets of the applicant.
