Job summary

Millcreek Township School District seeks a Special Education Assistant - Autistic Support at Tracy Elementary in Erie, PA. This full-time role supports teachers and therapists to implement individualized education plans for students.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of post-secondary credits, be willing to follow instructions from school staff, and maintain CPR/First Aid certification. Salary is $20.53 per hour with PSERS benefits and a full district benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years post-secondary or 48 credits, or pass the I.U.5 paraprofessional test.
• Willingness to follow instructions of principal, teacher, school nurse, and therapists while assisting students.
• Ability to assist students with daily living activities and behavior management.
• Certification in CPR, First Aid and UKERU and ongoing professional development per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in small group or one-on-one reviews in math, reading and other curricula.
• Support students with instruction during activities and transitions.
• Assist during electives (Art, Music, P.E.) and lunch/recess.
• Help implement behavior management and therapy devices for students.
• Record data and logs to bill access to related services.
• Participate in classroom and student-specific meetings as requested.
