Job summary

Millcreek Township School District OFF SITE - Erie, Pennsylvania seeks a Special Educational Assistant to provide emotional support services. Starting date is immediate, with duties including assisting students with daily living activities, supporting teachers, and participating in behavioral and educational plans.

Salary is $20.53 per hour based on PSERS experience; benefits include health/dental/vision and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Two years post-secondary education or equivalent
• Willingness to follow instruction from school staff
• Assist with daily living activities as needed
• Computer knowledge or willingness to learn technology
• Maintain CPR/First Aid/UKERU certification and 20 hours annual PD

Responsibilities

• Assist in small group or individual review with students in math, reading and other curricula areas as designated by teacher
• Work with students one-on-one or in groups during instruction
• Assist students with daily living activities including toileting, feeding, dressing
• Support integration of behavioral management and therapy devices
• Supervise field trips and assist with arrival/dismissal and safety procedures
• Complete logs for billing related services and record data under supervision

Education

Minimum two (2) years post-secondary (48 credits), associate degree, or passing score on the Special Education Paraprofessional Assessment test administered through I.U.5.
