Job Title: Assistant Store Manager
Join our team as an Assistant Store Manager and take on key responsibilities including supervising daily store activities, managing schedules, developing operational plans, and identifying training opportunities to develop the team.
Position Details
- Type: Full-Time
- Hours: 38 hours/week
- Starting Wage: $24.00/hour
- Wage Increase: Year 2 - $25.00/hour
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing action plans to improve store results
- Communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to team members
- Identify training and development opportunities for staff
- Understand and communicate company strategy and core values
- Monitor the competitive environment and recommend adjustments
- Participate in hiring and onboarding new employees
- Ensure store compliance with inventory, product handling, and cash policies
- Resolve customer concerns in the absence of the store leader
- Maintain store safety, cleanliness, and signage standards
- Assist in inventory management and merchandising
- Support payroll, loss prevention, and training initiatives
- Supervise daily team operations and escalate issues as needed
- Uphold company policies and safeguard confidential information
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
- Stocking and handling merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds
- Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, walk
Qualifications
- Must be 18 or older
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Provide excellent customer service and develop team rapport
- Understand company policies and performance management
- Operate cash register and store equipment safely
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
- Meet state and local requirements for alcohol sales
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 3 years retail experience, management preferred
