When you join our team as an Assistant Store Manager, you’ll take on key store management responsibilities including supervising day-to-day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans while identifying training opportunities to develop and grow the team.
Position Details
- Type: Full-Time
- Hours: 38 hours/week
- Starting Wage: $24.50/hour
- Wage Increase: Year 2 - $25.50/hour
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing action plans to improve results
- Set and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations
- Identify training opportunities for team development
- Communicate and model company values to foster teamwork
- Monitor community environment and advise on necessary adjustments
- Provide product feedback and make recommendations
- Participate in hiring processes
- Communicate team updates and milestones
- Ensure adherence to inventory, product handling, and cash policies
- Resolve operational customer concerns in the absence of the direct leader
- Identify hazards and ensure store safety and equipment maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and signage standards
- Assist in stock management and product merchandising
- Support payroll, inventory, and training activities
- Supervise daily team operations and escalate issues as needed
- Ensure team completes responsibilities effectively to deliver excellent customer service
- Uphold company policies and data security
Physical Demands
- Stock merchandise, lift up to 45 pounds, and perform store duties
- Stand, sit, bend, reach, push, pull, and walk regularly
Qualifications
- Must be 18+ years old
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Customer service and leadership skills
- Ability to interpret policies and manage performance
- Experience with budgeting and operating equipment
- Effective communication skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- State and local alcohol handling requirements
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- 3+ years retail experience, management preferred
