When you join our team as an Assistant Store Manager, you’ll take on key store management responsibilities including supervising daily store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans while identifying training opportunities to develop and grow the team.
Position Type: Full-Time
Average Hours: 38 hours per week
Starting Wage: $24.00 per hour
Wage Increase: Year 2 - $25.00 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the direct leader in developing and implementing action plans to improve results.
- Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations.
- Identify training and development opportunities for team growth.
- Understand and communicate company strategy and core values to foster teamwork.
- Monitor the community environment and suggest adjustments to maintain competitiveness.
- Provide product feedback and recommend new or discontinued items.
- Participate in hiring processes for store personnel.
- Communicate weekly updates, milestones, and concerns.
- Ensure adherence to inventory, product handling, and cash policies to minimize losses.
- Resolve operational customer concerns in the absence of the direct leader.
- Identify hazards, maintain store safety and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and signage standards.
- Assist with stock levels, merchandising, and product quality.
- Support in achieving payroll, budget, inventory, and training goals.
- Supervise daily team operations, escalating issues as needed.
- Ensure team completes responsibilities to provide excellent customer service.
- Follow company policies, ensuring data security and confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Stock merchandise, lift up to 45 pounds, and perform physical activities like standing, bending, and reaching.
Job Qualifications
- Must be 18+ years old.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Provide courteous customer service and develop team rapport.
- Interpret policies, set goals, and evaluate performance.
- Understand budgeting and operate store equipment safely.
- Excellent communication skills, organized, and detail-oriented.
- State and local alcohol handling requirements.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 3 years retail experience, management preferred.
