Job summary

Visionist Inc. in Fort Meade, MD is seeking a software engineer with a full-stack focus for a funded, mission-focused program on our largest PRIME contract.

You will craft analytics pipelines, web visualizations, and automation tools used by analysts and operators, collaborating directly with customers to translate requirements into practical solutions. The role demands Top Secret/SI with poly clearance, a technical degree, and extensive software experience across UI, APIs, back-end, and DevOps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 12 years of software engineering experience; 10 years with an MS degree.
• Experience with full-stack development across UI/UX, middleware/APIs, back-end, DevOps, or data science.
• Experience leveraging AI agents for software development and research (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Pi).
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS; UI frameworks such as Angular or React.
• Experience with Python, relational DBs (PostgreSQL/SQLite), GitLab, and CI/CD; Docker knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom full-stack software solutions, analytic pipelines, and web visualizations.
• Collaborate directly with customers to gather mission requirements and feedback.
• Design intuitive user interfaces and workflows for analysts and operators.
• Build data visualization, automation, and workflow improvement solutions.
• Integrate applications across diverse systems and tech stacks.
• Work with team leads and developers to identify needs and deliver solutions.
• Drive development projects and proposals, owning lifecycle from concept to delivery.
• Maintain applications, scripting, and technical docs in a fast-paced mission environment.
