Job summary

Munich Re is hiring a Software Engineer, US Life (2027 Permanent) in New York. You will develop end-to-end features from a Python FastAPI backend to a React/TypeScript frontend, and model complex domain logic with multi-tenant data structures.

Collaborate with underwriting, data science, and engineering teams, ensuring secure, auditable decisions while delivering reliable software in an insurance domain. Base salary in NYC ranges with bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and knowledge of software development principles.
• Proficiency in Python and modern web frameworks.
• Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and React.
• Familiarity with relational databases and data modeling.
• Version control with Git and collaborative workflows.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to design, build, test, and ship features across the stack from Python backend to React frontend.
• Model complex domain logic and multi-tenant data models for scalable systems.
• Design and maintain PostgreSQL-backed data schemas and migrations.
• Incorporate security practices across authentication/authorization, RBAC, and CI/CD.
