Job summary

Munich Reinsurance America, Inc is seeking a Software Engineer for US Life to design, develop, and operate platforms turning underwriting expertise into automated risk decisions. You will work across Python (FastAPI) backend and a React + TypeScript frontend, crafting deterministic, well-tested code.

You will model domain logic, manage multi-tenant PostgreSQL data models, and embed security (OAuth2/OIDC, RBAC) in CI/CD. Collaboration with underwriting, data science and other teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong grasp of software development fundamentals.
• Proficiency with Python and web frameworks (FastAPI, Flask or similar).
• Familiarity with TypeScript/JavaScript and modern React (React or Next.js).
• Knowledge of relational databases (ideally PostgreSQL).
• Git version control and pull request best practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across the stack to design, build, test and ship features from Python backend to a React frontend.
• Model complex domain logic—rule graphs, execution state and lifecycle workflows.
• Maintain PostgreSQL-backed, multi-tenant data models with migrations and isolation.
• Integrate security throughout the lifecycle—OAuth2/OIDC, RBAC, and CI/CD pipelines.
