Job summary

SaidGig is seeking a software engineer to build and stress-test production software for evaluating frontier language models before release. You will work directly with an AI lab engineering manager on fast-moving projects, integrating pre-release model APIs and delivering working code early in the engagement.

• Ability to join an unfamiliar codebase and deliver working code quickly with minimal ramp-up.
• Demonstrable career progression and strong written communication.

Role Overview

Build and stress-test production software that helps evaluate frontier large language models before release. You will work directly with an AI lab engineering manager on fast-moving projects, integrating pre-release model APIs and contributing working code early in the engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and ship full-stack applications, services, and internal tools in Python, Java, Rust, C#, C++, or TypeScript to exercise model capabilities end to end.
• Integrate pre-release model APIs into functional software, including tool interfaces, evaluation harnesses, and telemetry.
• Identify, diagnose, and document model and integration failure modes, then provide clear written feedback to the research team.
• Rapidly prototype against evolving requirements and deliver working increments with limited upfront specification.
• Collaborate with the engineering manager and other engineers to maintain code quality, architecture consistency, and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of dedicated professional experience building and shipping production software at a recognized, top-tier organization.
• Production experience in at least one of Python, Java, Rust, C#, or C++, plus working proficiency in a second language. The team is deliberately staffed across multiple programming-language ecosystems.
• Hands-on full-stack experience with backend services and APIs, a modern front-end framework such as React or equivalent, relational or document databases, and cloud deployment.
• A demonstrated ability to join an unfamiliar codebase and deliver working code quickly with minimal ramp-up.
• Demonstrable career progression.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to clearly explain complex technical decisions.

Work Terms

Full-time, hourly engagement based in India.

Compensation

25 to 30 per hour.
