Job summary

Workstream is seeking a skilled Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our growing engineering team. This full‑time, hybrid role requires 1–2 days in the office weekly to collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑growing HR tech environment.

You will build scalable cloud applications for an all‑in‑one HR, payroll, and hiring platform, contributing to product features from ideation to delivery. Strong TDD and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 to 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong foundation in programming principles and design patterns.
• Experience building scalable systems and test‑driven CI/CD with a commitment to quality software development.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB, have comprehensive understanding of the decision‑making process between SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Demonstrated experience in designing distributed systems with a holistic perspective.
• Keep up with the latest technological trends and continuously improve productivity.
• Bilingual in English and Chinese preferred

Responsibilities

• You are a seasoned Software Engineer with a strong background in full‑stack application development.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and peer engineers to deliver well‑scoped product features.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders across Engineering, Product, GTM, and Customer Success teams.
• You advocate for and practice test‑driven development (TDD) to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, reliable software.
• Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
