Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned software engineer in Virginia to design and deploy scalable, cloud-based solutions for geospatial-temporal datasets. You will own major components, collaborate with government customers, and ensure robust, secure delivery from planning through maintenance.

Requirements include U.S. citizenship, TS/SCI with CI polygraph willingness, a CS degree, and 5+ years in software development using Java, Python, Go, or Rust.

Job description

• Design and implement efficient, flexible solutions that scale for mission-critical applications
• Participate in all aspects of the development lifecycle, including planning, requirements development, software design, implementation, build, documentation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Apply software standards and processes to produce high-quality, extensible, maintainable software solutions
• Use cloud technology stacks for data extraction, manipulation, transformation, and visualization of geospatial-temporal datasets
• Develop analytics and derivative data products to help users extract meaningful knowledge
• Troubleshoot and solve issues proactively
• Work directly with U.S. Government customers, analysts, and users across the IC/DoD to understand requirements and propose technical solutions
• Collaborate with engineers, clients, and users
• Work full time onsite

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technology fields
• Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in software development, including design, development, and implementation
• Proficiency in one multiparadigm programming language (Java, Python, Go, Rust, etc.)
• Experience with data extraction, manipulation, visualization, and analysis of large datasets
• Experience designing and supporting cloud-based architectures, including AWS and C2S environments
• Experience with NoSQL data stores such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or similar technologies
• Experience developing and maintaining applications in cloud computing environments
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud or hybrid environments
• Proficiency in Linux-based environments
• Familiarity with modern software development tools, DevSecOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
• Preferred: Experience with geospatial processing techniques, libraries, and visualization tools
