About the Role

Double is seeking a Full Stack Engineer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining and improving existing systems. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of development and ongoing maintenance of both internal and client-facing applications. While you’ll have autonomy, you'll also collaborate closely with Operations and Marketing teams to ensure our tools remain effective, efficient, and user-friendly.

This position focuses on thoughtful maintenance and steady improvement rather than rapid scaling or constant feature development.

The entire codebase is in TypeScript. Our backend uses Node, PostgreSQL, Apollo, and Redis. Our web apps are built with React and Apollo. We also developed a native iOS app in Swift, utilizing UIKit and SwiftUI.

Our backend integrates with third-party APIs like OpenAI, Twilio, Airtable, Google Calendar, Slack, SendGrid, Intercom, among others.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science, telecommunications, electrical engineering, or relevant experience.
• 5 years of programming experience, including 3 years with React, GraphQL, Node, and TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of relational databases.
• Familiarity or enthusiasm to learn Apollo, React Hooks, Redis, Chrome Extensions, and productivity APIs like Slack and Zapier.
• Confidence in skills, with good judgment on when to leverage third-party solutions.
• Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and eager for ownership opportunities.
• Proactive in improving team efficiency through tooling and process enhancements.
• Open to contributing outside your immediate expertise for team impact.
• Energetic, communicative, and collaborative with diverse teams.
• Authorized to work in the US.
