Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products based on input from marketing, customers, Operations Teams, Development Engineers, or other employees. They maintain products, processes, and specifications, including modifications for new applications, consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to improve quality and cost, meet customer requirements, and support product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer needs. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.
Responsibilities
- High Speed IO (SR Position): Responsible for being the FAE product expert for high-speed connectors, cages, and cable assemblies from market definition through production and release. Must have comprehensive knowledge of the Global Product Line (GPL) portfolio, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Able to advise on product extensions, feature modifications, and alternative interconnector solutions within DDN’s portfolio.
- Power: Responsible for being the FAE product expert for power connectors, bus bars, and cable assemblies from market definition through production and release. Must have comprehensive knowledge of the GPL portfolio, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Able to advise on product extensions, feature modifications, and alternative interconnector solutions within DDN’s portfolio.
- ICC: Responsible for being the FAE product expert for Internal Connector and Cable Assemblies from market definition through production and release. Must have comprehensive knowledge of the GPL portfolio, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Able to advise on product extensions, feature modifications, and alternative interconnector solutions within DDN’s portfolio.
- Responsible for product development of high-speed cable assembly, power connector, and power cable assembly solutions from market definition through production and release, including:
- Collaborating with customers and TE teams to gather VOC and convert it into design concepts and specifications.
- Conducting feasibility studies, mechanical and thermal simulations.
- Providing engineering evaluations and proposals to customers.
- Creating detailed designs and performing DFMEA/tolerance analysis.
- Building prototypes and validating them.
- Providing technical support to operations for efficiency and safe launches.
- Resolving product issues and managing ECN/PCN processes.
- Understanding customer needs and maintaining a system-level understanding of applications.
- Providing technical support, troubleshooting, and verification.
- Working with manufacturing, procurement, and suppliers to meet technical, quality, and cost goals.
- Documenting designs, changes, and maintaining design history files.
Background Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering related to electrical components, device design, tooling development, or manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge in socket and connector design, and familiarity with switch or server equipment.
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and product qualification.
- Proficiency in 3D design software (e.g., ProE, Spaceclaim).
- Basic knowledge of raw materials, industry standards, manufacturing processes, and quality tools.
- Ability to collaborate across global teams and adapt to different time zones.

Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary: $100,200 - $150,300 (dependent on location and experience).
