Job summary

Kargo is building the connective tissue between the physical freight world and the digital logistics ecosystem, delivering AI-powered products, data pipelines, and dashboards for real-time visibility. You will own end-to-end features across backend services, data processing, and user interfaces that empower shippers and carriers.

As a senior software engineer, you’ll drive scalable architectures, collaborate with customers, and contribute to production-grade systems in a fast-growing logistics

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building products at scale.
• Strong experience in TypeScript and Python.
• Experience shipping enterprise or consumer-facing products with clear technical requirements.
• Comfort working cross-functionally with direct customer stakeholders.
• Experience building modern web applications and APIs across the full stack.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, reliability, and fault tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end experiences for AI-powered products including data pipelines and backend services.
• Build and evolve customer-facing dashboards and applications for real-time logistics data.
• Develop software across web, mobile, and kiosk interfaces deployed on Kargo Towers and forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Develop the end-to-end experience for AI-powered products, including data pipelines, backend services, and user interfaces for interacting with the Kargo platform.
• Build and evolve Kargo's customer-facing dashboards and applications, creating intuitive experiences that help users understand and act on complex logistics data.
• Develop software experiences across multiple surfaces - web, mobile, and kiosk interfaces deployed on Kargo Towers and forklifts.
• Collaborate with Product and Solution Engineers to build our agentic AI product suite.
• Strengthen the stability, scalability, and measurability of our backend systems.

Experience

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building products at scale.
• Strong experience in TypeScript and Python.
• Experience building and shipping enterprise or consumer-facing products, with a strong understanding of how product needs translate into technical requirements.
• Comfort working cross-functionally and with direct customer stakeholders.
• Experience building modern web applications and APIs, with the ability to own features across the full stack.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and fault-tolerant system design.
• Experience with production infrastructure and observability, including logging, monitoring, alerting, and debugging distributed systems.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
