Job summary

Kargo is seeking a senior software engineer in San Francisco to build AI-powered products, data pipelines, and backend services. You will own frontend, backend, and data interfaces across web, mobile, and kiosk platforms, collaborating with product teams to translate requirements into robust solutions.

You should have 5+ years of software engineering experience, deep TypeScript/Python skills, and a track record of shipping scalable products.

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering experience building products at scale.
Strong experience in TypeScript and Python.
Experience building and shipping enterprise or consumer-facing products with translation of product needs into technical requirements.
Comfort working cross-functionally and with direct customer stakeholders.
Experience building modern web applications and APIs with full-stack ownership.
Understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, scalability, reliability and fault-tolerance.
Experience with production infrastructure and observability (logging, monitoring, alerting, debugging).
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

Develop end-to-end AI-powered product experiences including data pipelines, back-end services, and user interfaces for the Kargo platform.
Build and evolve customer-facing dashboards and apps for intuitive data understanding and action.
Create software experiences across web, mobile, and kiosk interfaces deployed on Kargo Towers and forklifts.
Collaborate with Product and Solution Engineers to build the agentic AI product suite.
Strengthen backend stability, scalability, and measurability.
