Job summary

Kargo, a leader in smart infrastructure for logistics, is hiring a software engineer to build end-to-end AI-powered products, data pipelines, and backend services with intuitive interfaces for the Kargo platform.

You will ship web, mobile, and kiosk experiences deployed on Kargo Towers and forklifts, collaborate with product teams, and strengthen backend architecture, scalability, reliability, and observability. This role offers a challenging, impact-driven environment at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building products at scale.
• Strong experience in TypeScript and Python.
• Experience building and shipping enterprise or consumer-facing products, with a strong understanding of how product needs translate into technical requirements.
• Comfort working cross-functionally and with direct customer stakeholders.
• Experience building modern web applications and APIs, with the ability to own features across the full stack.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and fault-tolerant system design.
• Experience with production infrastructure and observability, including logging, monitoring, alerting, and debugging distributed systems.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop the end-to-end experience for AI-powered products, including data pipelines, backend services, and user interfaces for interacting with the Kargo platform.
• Build and evolve Kargo's customer-facing dashboards and applications, creating intuitive experiences that help users understand and act on complex logistics data.
• Develop software experiences across multiple surfaces - web, mobile, and kiosk interfaces deployed on Kargo Towers and forklifts.
• Collaborate with Product and Solution Engineers to build our agentic AI product suite.
• Strengthen the stability, scalability, and measurability of our backend systems.
