Job summary

Akina, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer 2 to join its Fort Meade team. You will work on a forward-deployed development effort delivering software solutions for sensitive national security data, building tools and transforms to help analysts understand large datasets.

Role requires strong Python, SQL, and React experience; TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required. You will collaborate closely with analysts and operators, support mission-critical servers, and contribute to a dynamic,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software development or 4 additional years in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
• Strong Python experience and data transformation skills
• Experience with SQL across SQLite, PostgreSQL, and MySQL
• Familiarity with Git and GitLab for source control and collaboration
• Frontend experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and React or similar framework
• Comfort working directly with customers and accepting feedback

Responsibilities

• Develop data transforms for diverse data formats (Text, JSON, SQL, XML, configs)
• Gather feature requests and understand project needs
• Explore unknown data to help analysts ask the right questions
• Build tools to improve performance of applications and data transforms
• Manage/ support mission-critical servers and act as a developer of server framework when needed
