Job summary

OpenAI in San Francisco is seeking a full-stack engineer to define and build a new class of learning experiences. This 0-1 product engineering role includes end-to-end ownership from prototype to production, focusing on learning at work and AI literacy.

You will design core systems, work with education, GTM, and engineering teams, and ship initial experiences that scale to enterprise workflows, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong full-stack engineering experience with leadership and hands-on delivery.
• Proficiency with TypeScript and React for frontend, and robust backend APIs.
• Experience with relational databases and data modeling.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, reliability, and performance.
• Ability to ship early-stage products and iterate with data-driven feedback.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision and execution for OpenAI’s native learning offering.
• Build end-to-end product experiences from prototype to production.
• Design core systems: learner state, content integration, telemetry, evaluation.
• Create reusable components and internal tools for education partners.
• Collaborate across education, engineering, design, data, and content teams.
