Job summary

Castalia Systems in Washington, DC is seeking a Mid-Level Full Stack Software Engineer to develop, test, and maintain software from requirements through production delivery. You will work across the technology stack and collaborate with engineers, architects, product owners, and mission stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable software solutions.

The role emphasizes building backend services, APIs, and web interfaces using Python/Java, React or Angular, and relational databases.

Qualifications

BS/BA or higher in CS/Engineering or related field.
4+ years of software engineering experience.
3+ years building Python/Java apps.
2+ years building web apps with React or Angular.
Experience with RESTful APIs and relational DBs (PostgreSQL).
Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
Familiarity with Jira for project tracking.

Responsibilities

Use modern tools, frameworks, and cloud technologies to solve technical problems.
Develop backend services, APIs, data integrations, and UI capabilities.
Participate in design reviews, troubleshoot issues, and improve quality.
Collaborate with senior engineers to learn and improve delivery practices.
