Job summary

Kargo in San Francisco is seeking a software engineer to develop high-performance C++ for machine vision and edge AI systems. You will help build 3D perception features and manage a growing fleet of edge devices, collaborating with senior engineers to improve reliability and scalability.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of software experience, strong C++ and Python skills, and Linux familiarity. A degree in CS/CE/EE/Robotics is preferred.

• Develop high-performance C++ software for machine vision and AI systems running on edge devices.
• Build and improve computer vision features using 3D perception and AI technologies.
• Help develop agentic AI systems to deploy, monitor, and manage a growing fleet of edge devices.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of our edge platform.
• Troubleshoot, test, and optimize software running in real-world environments.

Experience

• 1 to 2 years of professional, internship, or research experience in software engineering.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and python.
• Familiarity with Linux development environments.
• Experience through coursework, projects, internships, or research in one or more of the following: computer vision, machine learning or AI, robotics, or edge computing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
