Job summary

Formlabs is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Somerville, MA to design and build prototypes and production electronic systems. This full-stack role covers circuit design, PCB layout, embedded firmware, and cross-functional collaboration with mechanical and software teams.

You will own projects, back decisions with data, and contribute to sensor, actuator, and optoelectronics subsystems. The team supports growth into leadership roles while delivering tangible hardware innovations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years designing and debugging electronics for products.
• Generalist in analog and digital design, PCB layout, validation and debugging.
• Experience with hardware interacting with the physical world across product life cycle.
• Hands-on, capable of supporting designs from research to field issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Design and build prototypes and production electronic systems, including circuit design and PCB layout.
• Own projects end-to-end, shipping products as a full-stack electronics engineer.
• Design subsystems such as sensors, actuators, and optoelectronics with tradeoffs.
• Back up design decisions with data from simulations and experiments.
