Job summary

Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) is seeking a sourcing and full-cycle recruiting professional for a 1-year temporary contract at HHMI Headquarters in Chevy Chase, MD. The role is hybrid (three days on-site, two days remote) and covers corporate, scientific, and operational searches.

You will build candidate pipelines, perform initial screens, and carry searches end-to-end, collaborating with recruiters and hiring managers across HQ, Janelia, and host sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of sourcing and/or full-cycle recruiting experience across more than one talent segment.
• Proficiency with Workday Recruiting is preferred.
• LinkedIn Recruiter used as one tool among many, not as primary sourcing strategy.
• Nice to have experience sourcing within mission-driven, nonprofit, academic, or research institutions.
• Existing relationships with career services offices, research programs, or scientific communities.

Responsibilities

• Source across multiple talent segments end to end, across corporate, scientific, and operational roles.
• Build active candidate pipelines using diverse channels beyond traditional platforms.
• Conduct initial screens to assess interest, qualifications, and mission alignment.
• Maintain accurate stage tracking and documentation in Workday Recruiting.
• Deliver market intelligence to inform search strategy and priorities.
• Collaborate with HQ, Janelia, and host sites as a visible contributor from day one.
