Job summary

Axis Residential is hiring a Property Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of multifamily communities in Spokane, WA. You will handle accounts payable, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, collaborating with community leaders and regional staff to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The role requires an associate degree (bachelor’s preferred), at least one year of general accounting, and payroll processing experience. Proficiency in Excel and Yardi is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting strongly preferred.
• Minimum of one year of general accounting experience.
• Previous payroll processing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and promote Axis Residential culture and values.
• Perform full-cycle accounting for 6-8 communities, including AP, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Collab with Assistant Community Directors, Community Directors, and Regional Support.
• Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Process electronic transfers and vendor payments; review invoices and coding.
• Generate and review monthly rent rolls and GAAP-aligned month-end packages.
• Prepare lender and compliance documentation; handle reserve distribution requests.
