Job summary

DIRIGO Management Company in Portland, Maine is seeking a dedicated Full Charge Bookkeeper to support accounting operations for a diverse portfolio of properties. The role requires GAAP proficiency, accurate financial reporting, and collaboration with property managers, vendors and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience, including rental property/condo accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with property management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting: A/P, A/R, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements (balance sheets, income statements).
• Reconcile general ledger, investigate discrepancies, and perform variance analysis.
• Coordinate with managers, vendors, contractors on billing questions.
• Process CAM, real estate tax, percentage rent, utilities, and other charges.
• Maintain records for associations and rental properties.
• Track fees, collections, reserves, and owner balances; prepare statements.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and proper documentation.
• Collaborate with management on accounting needs.
