Job summary

Benchmark Tax & Accounting, based in Woodland Hills, CA, seeks a Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage the full accounting cycle for multiple clients. You will handle day-to-day entries through to financial statements and collaborate with business managers and CPAs to ensure accurate, current books.

The role requires 3+ years in full-charge/bookkeeping, strong QuickBooks skills, GAAP knowledge, and payroll experience with ADP, Gusto, or Paychex.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full charge bookkeeping or full-cycle accounting experience
• Solid QuickBooks skills (Online or Desktop)
• Associate's or Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus but experience matters more
• Payroll experience with ADP, Gusto, or Paychex
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
• Ability to manage several clients or entities concurrently
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly
• Excellent client-facing communication skills

Responsibilities

Benchmark Tax & Accounting is a tax and business management firm where we act as an outsourced back office for a varied group of clients. We're looking for a Full Charge Bookkeeper who genuinely enjoys the variety of managing books for several clients at once, rather than being tied to just one company's chart of accounts. You'll own the full accounting cycle for your own client caseload — from day-to-day entries all the way through financial statements — and become the person each of those clients trusts to keep their finances straight.

This isn't a role where you'll be doing the same thing on repeat. You'll be switching gears between industries and account structures throughout the week, working closely with our business managers and each client's CPA to make sure everything stays clean, current, and ready for whatever comes next.

What we are looking for:

• 3+ years of full charge bookkeeping or full-cycle accounting experience — bonus points if it was at a business management firm, family office, or another multi-client environment
• Solid QuickBooks skills (Online or Desktop); if you've used business management-specific software before, even better
• A real handle on GAAP and general accounting principles
• Payroll experience with a platform like ADP, Gusto, or Paychex
• Excel/Google Sheets fluency
• Comfort managing several clients or entities at once without losing accuracy or discretion
• Sharp attention to detail and the organizational instincts to back it up
• The ability to work independently, adapt on the fly, and keep your own priorities straight
• Communication skills good enough to sit across from a client directly — some of ours are high-profile, and we need people who can represent us well
• An Associate's or Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus, but we care more about what you've actually done
