Interns will work part-time, 15-30 hours a week for the duration of one academic year (two 3-month terms). Upon completion of the first 3-month term, interns will receive a $500 stipend. Upon completion of the second 3-month term, interns will receive a second $500 stipend for a total of $1,000 over the 6-month period. The start and end dates of this internship are flexible.

If you are interested in citizen diplomacy, international relations, or nonprofit work, and you enjoy collaborating with volunteers and employees in the field who have influence and make a difference in their communities, then this is the place for you! In this position, you will work with all departments (i.e., Membership, Programs, Marketing, and Operations) to assist the office staff with day-to-day and ongoing tasks. Interns are an integral part of the staff at Sister Cities International and will gain the following benefits:
NOTE: We are not able to provide housing or housing stipends for interns at this time.
International students studying in the U.S. are eligible, but they must hold a valid F-1 or J-1 visa and appropriate work authorization if they are receiving compensation for the internship. All international students must obtain written permission from their Designated School Official or Responsible Officer for visas at their university stating that they are in valid immigration status and eligible to complete an internship at Sister Cities International.
Sister Cities International will NOT sponsor visas for interns. If you are an international student not already studying in the U.S. on an F-1 or J-1 visa, then you must go through a university exchange program or an outside organization (internship placement agency) that will sponsor your visa.
