Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Fulfillment Technician in Ankeny, IA to fill and compound medications, including ointments, in a long-term care facility. You will collaborate with nursing staff to verify dosages, fill and label prescriptions, and ensure compliance with pharmacy policies.

The role operates Monday–Friday with rotating shifts and weekend coverage on a periodic basis. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is highly preferred and LTC experience is a plus.

As a Fulfillment Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate filling and compounding of medications, including ointments. Your role will involve working closely with nursing staff to confirm dosages, filling prescriptions for a facility that services 1000 beds, and labeling prescriptions in accordance with pharmacy policies and procedures.

Work Environment

The position operates within a long-term care pharmacy, servicing nursing homes, assisted living, and group homes. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with rotating shifts between 7am - 7pm. Technicians are also required to work one weekend every four weeks, with Saturday hours from 9:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Employees receive one day off during the week leading up to their weekend shift and a reduced shift by half an hour on other days. The dress code is casual, allowing jeans and t-shirts, but requires closed-toe shoes. Shorts must be knee-length, and open shoulder shirts are not permitted.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ankeny, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
