Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for a detail-oriented and dependable Certified Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in Fairfield, OH. You will assist with the preparation, distribution, and management of medications in a fast-paced compounding environment, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy operations. This position provides the chance to build your skills in both sterile and non-sterile compounding while contributing directly to high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed pharmacists in accurately filling prescriptions under direct supervision.
  • Measure, count, and package medications in accordance with prescription guidelines and established procedures.
  • Affix appropriate labels to medication containers, including dosage instructions and safety warnings.
  • Enter prescription and patient information into pharmacy software systems with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor medication stock levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure adequate inventory.
  • Conduct routine inventory checks and rotate stock to minimize waste and prevent expired medications from being dispensed.
  • Safely dispose of expired, damaged, or recalled medications in accordance with pharmacy policies and regulations.
  • Greet patients and other stakeholders in a courteous, professional manner and respond to routine inquiries.
  • Assist with prescription drop-off and pick-up processes to support an efficient workflow.
  • Perform routine checks on pharmacy equipment and storage conditions to maintain optimal performance and safety.
  • Participate in quality control efforts, including monitoring expiration dates and maintaining cleanliness standards in the compounding and storage areas.
  • Support a clean, organized, and compliant work environment by following established procedures and housekeeping practices.
  • Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to pharmacy operations and controlled substances.
  • Adhere to safety protocols for handling medications, hazardous materials, and compounding processes.
  • Work primarily in a compounding setting, focusing on sterile and non-sterile compounding tasks as assigned.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and team members to maintain smooth daily operations and timely order fulfillment.
Qualifications
  • Must be actively Certified as a Pharmacy Technician.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
