Job summary

ABB in Richmond, VA is seeking a Material Planner/Purchasing professional to release purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, and align procurement with customer requirements using ERP and SOPs. Qualifications

• Experience in Material Planning or Purchasing/Supply Chain Management (minimum 1 year with Bachelor degree; 3 years with Associate; 5 years with HS diploma).
• Demonstrated use of SAP or equivalent ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Fluent in English; Spanish a plus; must have work authorization to work in the US.

The work model for the role is:

Onsite, Richmond, VA

Your role and responsibilities:

• Releasing purchase requisitions and initiating purchase orders in the system, aligning them with customer requirements (based on ERP and standard operation procedures) and as per the release strategy and table of authorities.
• Monitoring suppliers’ order acknowledgments and dispatch advice, along with the inbound freight, customs clearance, and local transportation processes.
• Tracking the purchase orders backlog and performing regular expending activities with internal (feeder factories) and external suppliers to ensure customer on-time delivery.
• Minimizing the late backlog by proactively identifying root causes and implementing recovery plans; and tracking goods received at the warehouse to verify appropriate delivery and ensures invoice processing and high customer service level.

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor degree in business administration, engineering, or related technical/STEM field of study PLUS minimum 1 year experience in a Material Planning or Purchasing/Supply Chain Management OR Associate degree PLUS minimum 3 years related experience OR HS diploma/GED PLUS minimum 5 years related experience.
• Demonstrated use of SAP in prior roles or equivalent ERP platforms, Microsoft Excel, and supply chain tracking tools.
• Fluent in English; bilingual skills (Spanish) a plus.
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $68,600 and $109,760 annually.
