Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders with suppliers to procure production materials per forecast and schedule; monitor open POs for on-time delivery and resolve issues.
• Expedite or defer orders based on schedule, determine optimal inventory levels.
• Coordinate material flows during BOM changes, obsolescence, and supplier changes; support Receiving, Warehouse & Inventory Management.
• Manage and resolve PO issues related to invoices, returns, and quality in the supplier database.

The work model for the role is: Onsite, Mebane, NC.

In this role as Buyer - ELSP, you will have the opportunity to purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and terms. Each day, you will ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying new suppliers in cooperation with the relevant category team.

Your role and responsibilities:

• Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material as required by forecast and the production schedule; Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication, and mitigation of future potential supply issues.
• Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory discrepancies and/or adjustments; Determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead times.
• Coordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes, obsolescence, and introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development or launches; Provide help & support to internal materials areas such as Receiving, Warehouse & Inventory Management to ensure proper transactions are done in the system.
• Manage and resolve issues regarding PO due to invoice discrepancies, returns and/or quality issues within the supplier data base.

Qualifications For The Role

• Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Materials, Planning, Purchasing, Inventory Management etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel, Outlook) and purchasing software, SAP preferred
• Strong planning and organizational skills; Analytical with a methodical approach to problem solving; Ability to work under pressure
• You are at ease communicating in English, written and verbal.
