Job summary

Capstone Career Site is seeking an Industrial Engineer to optimize the flow of people, products, and equipment in a distribution facility. You will lead CI projects, implement engineered labor standards in WMS/LMS environments, and partner with IT, safety, and operations to improve throughput and costs.

You’ll design layouts, develop KPIs, and build dashboards to monitor labor, capacity, inventory, and service metrics, while shaping standard work and SOPs for sustained improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, systems engineering, supply chain, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in Operations & Automation in Warehousing and/or Logistics.
• 2+ years of experience in SAP or related ERP experience in process improvement tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current warehouse processes to identify bottlenecks, waste, and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Design facility layouts and slotting strategies to optimize travel, space utilization and throughput.
• Develop, implement, and maintain engineered labor standards within WMS/LMS environments.
• Lead CI initiatives using Lean, 5S, value stream mapping, and theory of constraints.
• Optimize the flow of materials, information, and product for fastest, safest, cost-effective movement.
• Assess capacity requirements based on projections, inventory profiles, and seasonal changes.
• Develop insights through data visualization to inform stakeholders.
• Conduct advanced root cause analysis on metrics to improve cost efficiency.
• Work with automation technologies and support ROI analysis and monitoring.
• Build dashboards and KPIs to track labor, capacity, inventory, and service metrics.
• Collaborate with operations, IT, maintenance, safety, and quality teams on SOPs.
• Create standard work and process maps to formalize best practices.
• Determine staffing levels and shift schedules to meet daily demands.
• Support site projects with engineered scope, estimates, and capacity models.
• Contribute to AI-driven initiatives aligning with business objectives.
