Job summary

Paxon is seeking an Operations Manager at the Indianapolis 2 Fulfillment Center in Avon, IN. Lead an operations team responsible for inbound, pick/pack, outbound shipments and inventory, with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency.

This role covers 2nd shift and weekend shifts, emphasizes continuous improvement, lean practices, and development of direct reports, while partnering with clients to meet SLAs and KPIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; HS/GED acceptable.
• Minimum 2+ years in progressive operations management.
• Lean, Six Sigma or similar process-improvement ideologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate direct reports.
• Analytical mindset with data-driven decision making.
• Ability to learn all operational functions.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to client SLA and site quality/fulfillment targets.
• Create and manage day-to-day operational strategy for safe, productive campus.
• Develop direct reports.
• Full work week responsibility including 2nd shift and weekend shifts.
• Lead performance management program for area.
• Plan and communicate shift directives for efficiency, accuracy, quality.
• Interact with clients on operational topics.
• Oversee quality assurance, establish metrics and processes.
• Deliver performance evaluations to direct reports and salaried managers.
• Promote continuous improvement culture; lean initiatives.
• Manage lean CI initiatives.
• Organize resources to improve safety, quality, service, and cost.
• Ensure SOPs are up to date and maintained.
• Promote high accountability and associate empowerment.
• Manage relationships with on-site seasonal staffing and advise on labor needs.
• Budget management for value stream.
