Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Fulfillment Buyer focused on Starbase purchases across multiple commodities and stakeholders. The role requires quick action, strong supplier engagement, and collaboration with production, facilities, and capital projects teams.

Responsibilities include expediting parts, resolving invoice issues, and leading cost-saving procurement projects while maintaining high integrity and compliance with ITAR requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of experience in supply chain, production, or engineering in lieu of a degree.
• Purchasing experience, esp. capital equipment or indirect buying.
• Strong problem-solving with bias for speed.
• Able to learn quickly and prioritize to meet needs.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• High integrity and attention to detail in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders quickly and without error.
• Ensure purchase orders are acknowledged by suppliers.
• Obtain the original promised date from suppliers.
• Review open order reports and manage deliveries.
• Resolve invoice issues and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Expedite parts as necessary and act as internal SpaceX customer service.
• Support buyers in cost savings initiatives.
• Lead miscellaneous procurement projects.

This Fulfillment Buyer will support Starbase purchases across multiple commodities, stakeholders (capital projects, facility management, production, etc.) and supply chain team clusters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Issue purchase orders quickly and without error
• Ensure purchase orders are acknowledged by suppliers
• Obtain the original promise date from suppliers
• Review open order reports and manage deliveries
• Resolve invoice issues and ensure that vendors are paid on time
• Expedite parts as necessaryAct as customer service for SpaceX internal customers
• Support buyers in cost savings initiatives
• Lead miscellaneous procurement projects

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree; OR 4+ years of professional experience working in a supply chain, production, or engineering function in lieu of a degree

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Purchasing experience, specifically related to capital equipment or Indirect buying
• Remarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed
• Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs
• Excellent customer service skills

• Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
• Strong technical knowledge of MS Office Suite

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
• Must be willing to travel to other sites as needed
