Job summary

Alcoa Warrick Power Plant in Newburgh, Indiana is seeking a Fuels Group Leader to schedule and direct the hourly fuels team, coordinate time off, shifts, and vacations, and ensure coal flows to silos daily. You will oversee safety and wellbeing and lead toolbox talks, track metrics, and coordinate with planners and logistics.

The role requires a strong background in industrial environments, leadership skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel; we offer competitive compensation, a 401(k) plan

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in a coordinator, superintendent or supervisory role
• Meticulous and detail-oriented record keeping and organization skills
• Capability to use Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft suite of software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good time management and self-motivation in driving results and discerning priorities
• Excellent data management, analysis, and timeliness in providing data requests and updates
• Ability to work as a team member and to be a leader of a team
• Lead by example when pertaining to health, safety and environmental related awareness, principles, and adherence to company and government related rules

Responsibilities

• Schedule hourly job assignments, overtime, vacations, hours on jobs daily
• Maintain organized, detailed and up-to-date records of coal processing
• Identify and reduce downtime; improve efficiency of team and equipment
• Attend calls and coordinate with planners, logistics coordinators, and fuels coordinators
• Develop budgets, timelines, project details; communicate updates to management
• Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and colleagues to meet objectives
• Identify key metrics and develop dashboards or transparency methods
• Communicate status to hourly and salaried personnel on equipment and projects
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental rules
• Resolve conflicts to boost morale and maintain team focus
