Job summary

Air Force District of Washington is seeking a Water and Fuel Distribution System Mechanic to maintain, inspect, install, repair, replace, and modify fuel storage and distribution systems, water utility networks, backflow devices, and fire suppression systems across assigned facilities.

You will install and service pumps, valves, vents, gauges, and related equipment, ensure proper flow and ventilation, follow safety rules, and document work to support mission readiness and compliant operations.

Responsibilities

• Installs, modifies, repairs and maintains utility, supply and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, water, oil, gas distribution systems, and water closets, tubs, showers, backflow prevention devices, fire suppression and sprinkler systems.
• Plans and ensures proper slope, fall, or level of installations to provide for proper flow, drainage and sanitary operating conditions and to prevent backflow, vacuum, or airlock conditions.
• Performs all phases of liquid fuel system maintenance including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and modification.
• Inspects fuel tanks and vents for proper ventilation and maintains a safe, clean work environment while using required safety equipment.
