Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is seeking a Fuel Truck Driver to support transportation of fuels and operations across Virginia. The role requires a Class B CDL with tanker/HAZMAT endorsements and a clean driving record.

You will assist with inspections, logs, and fueling heavy equipment while maintaining a high standard of safety and teamwork. The position offers a full-time, year-round schedule with start times around 6:00 AM, overtime and weekend work possible.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B required and tanker/HAZMAT endorsements preferred.
• Clean driving record with no major violations in the last 7 years.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug screening.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Know and follow DOT rules, regulations and guidelines.
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain reports.
• Maintain mileage and fuel dispense logs.
• Safely operate CMV in various sites across Virginia.
• Refuel heavy equipment with diesel fuel and grease wear parts.
• Top-off fluids and keep vehicles clean.
• Ensure safety policies are met and work well with teammates.

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is looking for a Fuel Truck Driver.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL
• Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements
• Manual Transmission, preferred
• Clean Driving Record (No major traffic violations, tickets or accidents for the last 7 years.)
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical/drug screening
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis
• Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspection and maintain inspection reports
• Maintain daily mileage and fuel dispense logs
• Safely operate commercial vehicle while driving and maneuvering in a variety of situations, such as heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas across Virginia
• Refuel heavy equipment using diesel fuel
• Daily greasing of all heavy equipment wear parts and grease fittings
• Fluid top-offs as need
• Maintain assigned vehicle(s) to a high standard of cleanliness
• Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers

Applicants must be 18 years of age and currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis in order to be considered.

For this role the base hourly range is $25.00-$35.00. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
