Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is seeking a Fuel Truck Driver to operate and refuel heavy equipment across Virginia. The role requires a Class B CDL with Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements, manual transmission preferred, and a clean driving record.

You will perform DOT-compliant inspections, logs, and safety practices in a dynamic construction environment. Starting hours are 6:00 AM with potential overtime and weekend work.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.
• Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements required.
• Manual transmission experience preferred.
• Clean driving record with no major violations in last 7 years.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug screening.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access.

Responsibilities

• Knowledges of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspection and maintain inspection reports.
• Maintain daily mileage and fuel dispense logs.
• Safely operate commercial vehicle while driving and maneuvering in a variety of situations, such as heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas across Virginia.
• Refuel heavy equipment using diesel fuel.
• Daily greasing of all heavy equipment wear parts and grease fittings.
• Fluid top-offs as needed.
• Maintain assigned vehicle(s) to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met.
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers.

For this role the base hourly range is $25.00-$35.00. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
