Job summary

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC in Virginia is seeking a Fuel Truck Driver to join our team. You will operate and refuel heavy equipment, perform daily inspections, and help ensure safe, compliant transportation across diverse job sites.

This full-time, year-round position requires a Class B CDL with Tanker and HazMat endorsements, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen. Start time is 6:00 AM; overtime and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL required.
• Tanker and HazMat endorsements required.
• Manual transmission preferred.
• Clean driving record (no major violations in 7 years).
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Know and follow DOT rules, regulations and guidelines.
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain inspection reports.
• Maintain daily mileage and fuel dispense logs.
• Safely operate commercial vehicle across Virginia in various environments.
• Refuel heavy equipment using diesel fuel.
• Grease wear parts and grease fittings on equipment daily.
• Top off fluids as needed and keep vehicles clean.
• Support health and safety culture and policies.
• Establish positive working relationships with co-workers.

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is looking for a Fuel Truck Driver.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL
• Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements
• Manual Transmission, preferred
• Clean Driving Record (No major traffic violations, tickets or accidents for the last 7 years.)
• Must pass pre-employment DOT physical/drug screening
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis
• Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspection and maintain inspection reports
• Maintain daily mileage and fuel dispense logs
• Safely operate commercial vehicle while driving and maneuvering in a variety of situations, such as heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas across Virginia
• Refuel heavy equipment using diesel fuel
• Daily greasing of all heavy equipment wear parts and grease fittings
• Fluid top-offs as need
• Maintain assigned vehicle(s) to a high standard of cleanliness
• Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies and requirements are met
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers

For this role the base hourly range is $25.00-$35.00. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
